09/09/2018 2:00 pm | On Sunday, September 9, at 2PM, there will be a dedication of Pat’s Prairie located on the grounds of the museum. The prairie is a native Illinois wildflower pocket prairie populated with plants that would have been there during the early 1800s. The prairie is dedicated to Pat Searcy who was a loyal and talented volunteer and perished in a plane crash one year ago. Visitors that day will receive packets of wildflower seeds and hear a description of the historical significance of the plants. Refreshments will be served including Mary Todd Lincoln’s White Cake which she served to Abraham Lincoln when they were courting.
