On Sunday, September 9, at 2PM, there will be a dedication of Pat’s Prairie located on the grounds of the museum. The prairie is a native Illinois wildflower pocket prairie populated with plants that would have been there during the early 1800s. The prairie is dedicated to Pat Searcy who was a loyal and talented volunteer and perished in a plane crash one year ago. Visitors that day will receive packets of wildflower seeds and hear a description of the historical significance of the plants. Refreshments will be served including Mary Todd Lincoln’s White Cake which she served to Abraham Lincoln when they were courting. Additionally, the Logan Memorial Stone program will be introduced at that time.
