Tablescape Event

02/24/2018 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Murphysboro Main Street committee will be hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, Feb 24 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Murphysboro Event Center. The fundraiser will be a “Tablescape Event.” What is a “tablescape”? In the simplest terms, it is an “artistic arrangement of articles on a table.” But it’s so much more.

Whether you’re planning an event, birthday party, wedding, or corporate occasion, there is a good chance that at some point your guests will gather together for a meal. Because of this, this tablescape event will give you design ideas using arrangements, table settings, and more to turn your concepts into major focal points of visual interest, designed to reflect the theme and atmosphere unique to any event.

Committee members Paula Maloney, Amy Mills, and Patty Koenig are all helping chair the event. “We thought this would be a wonderful way to kick off our spring fundraising,” Maloney said.  “This event will showcase some great ideas,” Mills added.  Koenig said that the early interest in both people wanting to have tables and the public wanting to attend the event “was amazing.”

There will be over 20 tables set up that day for you to visit, ask questions, and plan project ideas to take back to your own home or business. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from a committee member or at the door. Music will be provided during the event by Chris Sloan. Funds raised by this event will help further project development for the city’s downtown area.
