If you’ve never experienced the Murphysboro Main Street Tabletop Tour, consider this your invitation! This annual event is a dazzling display of artistic expression, community spirit, and a little friendly competition—all wrapped up in one fabulous fundraiser. This is one of the best events of the year.
Picture this: A blank table transformed into a breathtaking work of art. Now multiply that by 25+ tables, each uniquely styled with its own theme and personality. From sculptural installations to elegant floral arrangements to heirloom-centered nostalgia, the creativity on display is nothing short of inspiring. Participants have complete artistic freedom, making every table a fresh surprise.
But it’s not just about the visuals—this event is a fundraiser that directly supports Murphysboro Mainstreet, an organization dedicated to revitalizing and preserving the heart of Murphysboro. A portion of the funds raised go toward the renovation of the historic Old Depot, which is set to become the Murphysboro Main Street Headquarters and Welcome Center. This 1888 former Mobile and Ohio Railroad station is a landmark of local history. Once restored, it will serve as a hub for visitors and a tribute to Murphysboro’s rich past while paving the way for a vibrant future.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Tabletop Tour is the crowd it draws. Guests cruise through the event, admiring the thoughtful details and unique themes, often pausing to reminisce, snap photos, and chat with designers. We’ve loved seeing all ages in attendance, from young kids enchanted by whimsical tablescapes to groups spanning four generations, making it a true family tradition.
